ITI is a VR Awards Finalist alongside Disney, McDonalds, National Geographic and more!

 

This year marks the 4th annual VR Awards, which are hosted by the Academy of International Extended Reality (AIXR). AIXR is a not-for-profit trade body for the immersive industry. These awards celebrate outstanding achievement in the VR industry. Hundreds of companies all over the world apply to be considered for the VR Awards. There are over 70 judges responsible for evaluating application packs which include written submissions, video content and this year's addition of supplemental 3D models.
 

ITI is excited to be 1 of 9 finalists in the Education and Training category, with our Construction Hazard ID application. This is the same category we won in 2017 with our VR Crane Simulator offering. This honor is awarded to companies or individuals who have demonstrated practical and innovative uses of VR in education and training. This applies to any industry that has used VR to aid in experiences, videos, games and more (providing it has a positive educational use). Companies and products in the running for VR Awards this year include - Disney, McDonalds, Oculus, National Geographic, Oxford Medical Simulation, GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy International, British Airways, and…ITI!

The Awards Ceremony will be held on Nov. 12th with the pre-show starting at 11:30am PST. This year's event is virtual and tickets are free! The event can even be attended via an Oculus Quest. So be sure to grab some bubbly and tune in to support yours truly, as we hope to take home the win again!  🍾

 
Construction hazards are plentiful, as are the training programs that address them like OSHA-10, online courses, and various internal safety courses.  Practical, immersive assessment of these hazards has not been available until now. 
 
This assessment was developed in collaboration with several organizations including Bechtel, DPR Construction, United Rentals Trench Safety, Liberty Mutual and others. It is intended to be used to provide a standardized qualification exam at the end of a construction safety course. The practical assessment can be administered by nearly anyone and covers the following -

- Environmental & Industrial Hygiene
- Confined Space & Hot Work
- Mobile Equipment and Personnel Interface (MEPI), Excavation & Trenching

- Fall Prevention
- Scaffolding
- Silica
