[Woodland, WA, USA: December 15, 2020] Industrial Training International (ITI) and Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH have collaborated to design and deploy Liebherr’s LR 1300 Crawler Crane in the ITI VR Crane Simulations library. To accompany the newest crane type, ITI and its development partners, have incorporated Liebherr’s control levers into ITI’s existing desktop and motion-base stations to help ensure an immersive operating experience.
Extensive quality control and user testing of the LR 1300 within the ITI VR Crane Simulator has been conducted by representatives from current VR Subscribers including Bechtel, to further ensure a realistic and highly nuanced operating experience. Additionally, Product Manager - Digital Solutions and Consulting, Christian Schneider of Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH has provided approval.
The addition of the LR 1300 is accompanied by the following software feature updates and will be made available to all current ITI VR Subscribers:
- Reduced Load Times
- The ability to generate xAPI statements
- 90+ scenarios per configuration
- Voiceover updates specifically for Luffing Jib operations

- 62m Main Boom
- 62m Main Boom + 8m Fixed Jib
- 50m Main Boom + 62m Luffing Jib
- Simulated NCCCO Exam with 38m Main Boom
Making the LR1300 available via VR simulation fills a critical need in terms of additional seat time specifically for the purpose of training, assessing and qualifying operators on this piece of equipment. Cranes as large and versatile as the LR1300 are a rarity, making the opportunity cost of using the machine for practice and/or training time versus the crane being in production an equation that rarely pencils out.
