VR Construction Hazard Awareness


Construction hazards are plentiful, as are the training programs that address them like OSHA-10, online courses, and various internal safety courses.  Practical, immersive assessment of these hazards has not been available until now. 
The VR Construction Hazard ID Assessment is a major title in the ITI VR Industrial Skills Library which is delivered through VR Headsets at your jobsites. The practical assessment can be administered by nearly anyone and cover 10 risk domains.

  • Electrical and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Environmental Hazards
  • Confined Space and Hot Work
  • Mobile Equipment and Personnel Interface (MEPI) and Excavations

  • Industrial Hygiene*

The ITI VR Industrial Skills Library is optimally deployed with the following hardware solutions packaged by ITI upon implementation.

  • Traveling Charging Case(s) - Hard plastic traveling cases that charge all headsets with a single wall outlet.
  • VR Headsets - ITI currently utilizes the HTC Vive Focus Plus VR Headsets.

More Information

This assessment was developed in collaboration with several organizations including Bechtel, DPR Construction, United Rentals Trench Safety, Liberty Mutual and others. It is intended to be used to provide a standardized qualification exam at the end of a construction safety course.
