ITI Instructors - 3 Continents, 4 Countries, 2 Days

ITI Instructors - 3 Continents, 4 Countries, 2 Days

Mark down June 23-24, 2015 as extra busy days for the ITI (iti.com) Technical Team. During the two-day period, ITI Instructors delivered the high quality crane, rigging, and load handling knowledge that has become a staple of the company on three different continents, four countries, and in a variety of formats. ITI Trainers delivered sessions in:

  • Singapore
  • Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
  • Edmonton, Alberta
  • Various locations around the United States

The second “I” in ITI stands for “international” for good reason, as over the course of the past 30 years the organization has conducted training on every continent (sans Antarctica), and on the ground in over 30 countries. Technology has helped “put the international in ITI” on an even larger scale, as the monthly ITI Showcase Webinar Series has seen attendees from over 50 countries in 2015 alone.

LEEA Lifting & Rigging Conference Asia 2015

ITI Instructor/Consultant Richard Marcotte represented the company at the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) Lifting & Rigging Conference Asia 2015. Marcotte delivered a Critical Lift Plan Workshop to 100+ attendees at the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium. The session was greeted with much fanfare, as student attendees were lead through the workshop, which included calculations; load charts interpretations, and best practices. Students walked away with a workbook, as well as select panels of ITI field reference cards, for future reference and use. LEEA_Lifting_Conf

When asked about his experience in Singapore, Marcotte responded by saying, “Presenting at the LEEA Conference in Singapore was first of all a tremendous honor, and second of all a hugely rewarding experience. The attendees were extremely receptive and obviously hungry for knowledge when it comes to cranes, rigging, and load handling. I hope I am able to return for future training opportunities.”

Petrobras Conference - Rio de Janeiro

ITI Latin America Managing Director Fernando Ferraz and Instructor Alberto Rocha contributed to a conference hosted by Petrobras, the largest company in Brazil, by delivering a technical seminar focusing on training and professional certification programs in Brazil and then comparing those to requirements in the United States. Petrobras_Logo

“Alberto and I were very excited for the opportunity to speak at the Petrobras event. Petrobras is the largest company in Brazil, and obviously a big part of the Brazilian economy as a whole. We are very proud that leading organizations in Brazil look to ITI as the subject matter experts when it comes to crane, rigging, and load handling operations,” noted Ferraz when asked about the event.

ITI Workshop - Edmonton

ITI Assistant Technical Director, Joe Kuzar, heads up the ITI brigade in Edmonton, Alberta, along with Travis Zubick, P. Eng., from PCL at the ITI Edmonton Workshop. This two-day event features instruction based on ITI curriculum, as well as industry and region specific instruction for special guest presenters. Kuzar delivered a number of session to the 50+ Workshop attendees including:

  • Advanced Rigging Foundations
  • Lift Director/Site Supervisor & ASME B30.5
  • ASME P30 Lift Planning Standard
  • Load Chart Interpretations
  • Lifting Applications & Multi-Crane Lifts
  • Compressor Module Critical Lift Plan

This event marks the third year in a row ITI has held a Workshop event in Edmonton, with plans already underway for the 2016 event. Previous ITI Workshops have taken place in Houston, Texas, Fort McMurray, Alberta, and New York City.

Look for the full 2016 ITI Workshops schedule in the coming months.

Crusin’ the U.S.A.

The remaining members of the ITI Technical Team spent the last month scattered across the United States conducting training at client locations in:

  • Houston, Texas
  • Yakima, Washington
  • Waterflow, New Mexico
  • San Pedro, California
  • Bardstown, Kentucky

Then, to top everything off, an open enrollment Accident Investigation Course at ITI Headquarters in Woodland, Washington.

Not bad for a week’s work. Stay tuned to see if they can top it next week.
