Rigging in the New Year with 2 Online Electives for Rigging Engineering

Rigging in the New Year with 2 Online Electives for Rigging Engineering

In January 2015, ITI released the first course in the ground breaking program, Fundamentals of Rigging Engineering. Over the next 12 months, all 5 required courses were completed, new electives went into the development stage, the program received accreditation from the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) and approval for continuing education units (CEUs) from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Now rounding out an impressive year, ITI has released the first online elective courses for the program. With the addition of RE-160 Specialized Transport Planning & Engineering Considerations and RE-170 Standards & Regulations for Load Handling Equipment, students are able to take the full program online.

RE-160 Specialized Transport Planning & Engineering Considerations is a 40 hour course featuring instruction by Marco van Daal, The Works International and Kyle Adams, Barnhart Crane & Rigging. The course focuses on road, rail and water transport.  All students taking the course will receive a copy of van Daal’s book, The Art of Heavy Transport as well as the Hydraulic Platform Transporter Reference Card.

RE-170 Standards & Regulations for Load Handling Equipment is a 12 hour course covering international requirements. Instructors from the United States, Canada, Brazil, United Kingdom and Australia provide insight in to the specific documents organizations need to be aware of when conducting load handling activities in country.
