Prepare Effectively for NCCCO Rigger Level I Certification
This NCCCO Rigger Level 1 course prepares participants for their rigger level 1 certification exam.
The NCCCO Rigger Level I Prep ILT course is designed to help candidates gain confidence and accuracy through targeted instruction and hands-on practice. The curriculum focuses on knowledge areas critical to success on the practical exam.
A certified rigger is a person who has been trained and certified to handle and move loads. The level of certification depends upon the individual’s training, knowledge, skill base, and ability to perform functions related to the selection, inspection, and proper use of rigging equipment.
This person may be qualified in a craft or trade and carry an occupational title such as iron worker, electrician, carpenter, millwright, mechanic, laborer, mason, longshoreman, lineman, pipe fitter, boilermaker, and the like. (The persons described in the categories above will be referred to as rigger even though they carry another occupational title.)

Core Learning Components
- Inspection criteria for slings, rigging hardware, hooks, and below-the-hook devices.
- Proper rigging configurations using hitches, knots, and tag lines.
- Load weight estimation and center of gravity calculations.
- Hand, voice, and audible signal communication techniques.
Students engage in guided practice scenarios and receive instructor feedback to improve decision-making and execution. Live demonstrations help clarify complex rigging principles and reinforce best practices in real-time.

Who Should Attend
This instructor-led course is ideal for entry-level and experienced riggers preparing to take the NCCCO Rigger Level I practical exam. It also supports other craft professionals who want to strengthen their rigging knowledge and apply it confidently in field operations.
Upon Completion
Each student that completes the full 1-day prep course will receive 0.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs), as well as a certificate of completion.
Written and Practical Exams are offered (additional fees apply), following the Rigger I Prep Course at ITI Training Centers.
PPE Information
The following PPE is required for all hands-on sessions at ITI Training Centers:
- OSHA-approved hard hat*
- Eye protection*
- Long pants with no holes or tears
- Low-heeled work boots or work shoes
- Full-fingered work gloves*
- OSHA-approved safety vest*
*ITI Training Centers will make these PPE items available for all enrolled students. Students are responsible for their own appropriate garments and footwear.
Daily Training Schedule
Day 1
Classroom only sessions that include; training, sample exams, and standards review
Day 2
Candidates perform the hands-on practical and written exams
