Q3 2023 - Update 1.12.0.206
Launched in Aug. 2023, this update comes with some key new features that add support for headsets and pod configurations, new settings and overhead crane features, and realism enhancements.
Q2 2023 - Nuclear Energy Institute Top Innovative Practice Award
ITI and the Tennessee Valley Authority are proud recipients of this year’s Top Innovative Practice Award from the Nuclear Energy Institute. TVA and ITI have collaborated to revolutionize the training and development process for polar crane operators through the use and implementation of the ITI VR Polar Crane Simulator.

Q3 2022 - Polar Crane Type Added
The ITI VR Polar Crane, sometimes referred to as Reactor Servicing Cranes, operate on a circular track or runway, within containment/reactor facilities. Polar cranes' primary function is removal and replacement of reactor components, and are also utilized during the refueling and outage process.
Due to the highly specialized environment and use cases, training for polar crane operators presents a number of challenges.

Q4 2020 - Liebherr LR 1300 Heavy Crawler Added
Industrial Training International (ITI) and Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH have collaborated to design and deploy Liebherr’s LR 1300 Crawler Crane in the ITI VR Crane Simulations library. To accompany the newest crane type, ITI and its development partners, have incorporated Liebherr’s control levers into ITI’s existing desktop and motion-base stations to help ensure an immersive operating experience.
Q2 2020 - NCCCO Foundation Studies VR Operator Exams
A new study published by the NCCCO Foundation suggests there may be potential for the use of virtual reality (VR) technology in delivering exams to crane operators. The study, which was conducted over an eight-month period, tracked the performance of a group of NCCCO certification candidates taking crane operator certification exams on actual cranes as well as via VR simulation.
Q1 2020 - Norfolk Makes it 4-for-4...
The team at Norfolk Naval Shipyard has become the fourth (of four) Public US Naval Shipyard to implement ITI VR Crane Simulators into its crane operator training and assessment programs. Norfolk has implemented two VR Motion Base and two VR Desktop stations along with the ITI VR Unlimited subscription plan enabling the shipyard to benefit from all crane models in the library, as well as all future updates and new crane models released.

Q4 2019 - Spanish Localization
ITI Simulations represents the most robust Crane Simulation Library in the world. That lofty claim can be made in large part because the darn thing grows every few months! Q3 2019 - Crane Simulator Join Oracle Construction Innovation Lab
The ITI VR Crane Simulator joins the Oracle Construction and Engineering Innovation Lab in Chicago, Illinois. The Lab was founded to demonstrate the invaluable power of technology and foster inventive cultures by creating a simulated worksite in which organizations can both demonstrate and experience the latest in new technologies. The upcoming event will be broadcast on LinkedIn Live by Oracle Executive Director and Innovation Officer Burcin Kaplanoglu, PhD.
Q1 2019 - VR Crane Simulator Spotlighted in Research Study
New original research conducted by FMI Corporation (www.fminet.com), aims to deliver insight into the following research thesis by answering three overarching questions:
- What are the true costs of training and evaluating aerial lift and crane operators?
- What are the perceptions of current training and evaluation?
- What are the perceptions of legacy simulators and immersive virtual reality (VR)?
Q4 2018 - Innovative Product of the Year (LEEA Awards)
The LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association) awards dinner took place during the LiftEx event as a celebration of the lifting industry's greatest achievements. ITI VR outlasted five other nominees in the Innovative Product of the Year category.
Q4 2018 - Cab & Remote Operated Overhead Cranes Added
Bridge Cranes are widely used overhead crane models across many industries, typically in high production environments that pose challenges to training including availability of the crane and risk of unskilled personnel in the production area. The ITI VR Overhead Bridge Crane Simulator utilizes cab-operated as well as remotely operated controls with a pendant or belly-box.
Q3 2018 - Liebherr Webservice Intregration
Industrial Training International (ITI) and Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH have collaborated to design and deploy Liebherr’s LR1300 Crawler Crane in the ITI VR Crane Simulations library. The simulator will integrate with the LML (load moment limitation) web-service to provide the crane operator trainee, 100% accurate lift data such as, maximum load and ground pressures in the simulation, based on the crane’s boom configuration during operation.
Q2 2018 - Overhead Crane Technical Advisory Group (TAG) Highlighted by Nucor
ITI co-founder and (then) Technical Director, Mike Parnell along with development partner Serious Labs, started working with Nucor and other TAG members to use the layout of steel mills to design environments and training scenarios within the Overhead Crane VR Simulator.
Q2 2018 - Carry Deck Crane Type Added
Hands-on carry deck operator training has never occurred outside of the actual machine, as simulation training has never been available for this equipment. The ITI VR Carry Deck Operator Simulator is a virtual replica of a Broderson IC-80 Carry Deck now allowing for training and assessment of carry deck operators on-demand, self-paced and in an engaging training environment.
Q4 2017 - Award Winning Crane Simulator
Industrial Training International's (ITI) virtual reality crane training simulator received the award for Best Use of VR in Education and Training at the 2017 VR Awards in London, England.
Q3 2017 - Broderson Partnership Announced
Broderson will become the first crane manufacturer to distribute simulation systems alongside its popular line of real-world mobile crane offerings. The company’s iconic IC-80 carry deck and RT-400 down cab rough terrain cranes will also be added to the ITI VR training library.
Q2 2017 - Subscriber Update #1
The ITI Simulations team pushes out the first, (with many more to come) software update for the VR Crane Simulator. The initial update, affectionately known as "1.1.040" consists of primarily bug fixes and performance enhancements.
Q1 2017 - Launch
ITI Simulations is launched at ConExpo 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The simulator featured two mobile crane types (Rough Terrain and Lattice Boom Crawler) at launch. ITI featured a desktop station and a motion-base station at their booth, with stations also setup in the NCCCO, and Tadano booths, respectively.
The ITI Virtual Reality Crane & Equipment Training suite has been developed in partnership with original equipment manufacturers to ensure an experience on par with operating the exact machinery each simulation was designed to replicate. Our varied scenarios and virtual crane simulation courses offer the range of challenges needed to turn beginners into experts.
