Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 Keeps The Ball Rolling During Extraordinary Times With The Help of ITI

Sheet metal workers are an integral part of the building and construction trades that keep our country in operation. In shops, sheet metal workers lay out, fabricate, and assemble sheet metal products; while in the field, they install these sheet metal products in buildings and on construction projects. For the Sheet Metal Workers Union 19, based in Philadelphia, PA, their project roster includes but is not limited to heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC), as well as moisture control - think gutters, flashing, etc.

Today, Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 is in the process of onboarding multiple, blended-learning approaches with the help of ITI! Local 19 is engaging in enhanced training during unprecedented times via use of the ITI Learning Hub and an ITI VR Crane Simulator. Through the Learning Hub, Local 19 is able to rely on consistent eLearning distribution to members in need of rigging, signaling, and other safety related content. Whereby through the use of an ITI VR Crane Simulator, Local 19 can also make sure their apprentices and journeymen have access to a training environment which helps prepare for crane lifts or the need for national certification testing. This multifaceted approach allows for increased training time and crane repetitions, while keeping their members engaged and using the latest innovative technologies.
